Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Thursday released an amount of Rs Twenty-eight crore fifty lakhs and ten thousand (28, 50, 10,000) as ‘Pre & Post Matric Scholarship’ for 2016-17. The amount will be received by 23, 750 ST students of the state. The scheme under which the payment is made is funded by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India.
It is worth mentioning here that there has been a massive hue and cry in the state as there was a delay in releasing the fund by from the Ministry and as per government sources, the payment was made on Thursday for mitigating the problems faced by the students.
It may be mentioned here that the state government is yet to receive the said amount from the Ministry of Tribal Affairs. All Arunachal Pradesh Students’ Union (AAPSU) has also been discussing about the issue rigorously with the Arunachal government.
