JOHANNESBURG – Students at the University of Limpopo are adamant that classes will remain suspended until government comes with a wayto provide free education.
Students at the institution have been protesting since last night, as part of the nationwide Fees Must Fall protest that have brought several universities to a standstill.
Student leader Isaac Hlungwana says they are in talks with students at in the University of Venda, Tshwane University of Technology’s Polokwane campus and the University of South Africa to have their institutions shutdown as well.
“We are going to close it until Blade Nzimande and Jacob Zuma rethink their strategy of providing free education. There is no way we are going to act like everything is okay when we are being compromised. We can’t afford education, so we want free education for all.”
