Mississippi State University’s Center for Distance Education is celebrating National Distance Learning Week, hosted by the United States Distance Learning Association during the week of Nov. 7-11. National Distance Learning Week is designed to highlight the growth of distance education and its accomplishments.
MSU offers four bachelor degree programs, 23 master degree programs, seven doctoral degree programs, and four certificate programs through distance education.
The unofficial enrollment numbers for students enrolled exclusively in online classes for Fall 2016 are 782 undergraduate students and 961 graduate students.
Currently, U.S. News and World Report ranks the Master of Business Administration distance program at No. 22, and the Bagley College of Engineering 7th in the nation for online graduate programs.
The Center for Distance Education will be featuring distance programs, faculty, staff, and students throughout the week. Students, alumni, faculty, and staff are asked to join the celebration on social media by posting on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram, tagging the Center for Distance Education, and using the hashtags #NDLW and #DistanceAtState.
Each day, the Center for Distance Education will give away a prize package. Winners will be chosen randomly from the social media posts. The prize package includes a t-shirt, huggie, and more.
