Parts of Kerala have been experiencing heavy rainfall since Sunday due to a low-pressure area formed over East Central Arabian Sea, which has been predicted to be turned into a depression. The Indian Meteorological Department has announced orange colour code warning, asking authorities to be prepared, for six Kerala districts – Thiruvananthapuram, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram and Wayanad. THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In a big relief for MBBS students belonging to BPL category, the Health Department has decided to introduce a scholarship scheme and a corpus fund that will cover their annual fees.
